Harleyford Irrigation Project

Work continues to move steadily forward on the Harleyford Irrigation Project, with the team now pulling mainline pipework from the back of the 14th green up to the 15th green. As the pipework is installed, irrigation boxes are being fitted along the way.

Importantly, no hole closures are required at this stage, so the course remains fully open while this phase of the project progresses.

A detailed programme for the fine turf areas will be developed shortly. Any changes to the fine turf lines will need to be confirmed before marking out begins. The marking out will take place in line with the fine turf programme — typically around 7 to 10 days ahead of the installation schedule — ensuring everything is precisely set before work starts. It generally takes a full day to a day and a half to mark out two complete greens, fairways, and tees, so careful planning is key.

Looking ahead, we are hopeful to begin pulling lateral pipework in early November. A full programme will be created next week, but the expectation is that this phase will progress at a rate of around 1 to 1.5 holes per week. With the large number of sprinklers required, the architect from Irritech will only be able to mark out the areas scheduled for immediate work to maintain accuracy and efficiency.

The project continues to run smoothly, and we look forward to seeing further progress over the coming weeks as we move into the next phase of installation.
