We’re pleased to share the latest progress on the irrigation upgrade project, which is now entering its final stages.
All primary pipework across the course has been successfully installed. This is a significant milestone, meaning no further large machinery will be required for the lateral works. As a result, disruption moving forward will be minimal as we focus on the finishing details.
18th Hole Works
To allow us to complete the final sprinkler installation, the 18th hole will be worked on both on Monday and Tuesday. This will enable the contractors to finish both the fairway and green systems.
Final Snagging and Finishing
From Tuesday onwards, the team will move into general snagging and finishing works across the site. This includes:
Rolling and surface levelling
Final sprinkler height and alignment adjustments
Removal of old irrigation components
Top dressing of affected areas
Turfing where required
The contractor will also be arranging a site walk with Andy to fine-tune sprinkler arcs and make any necessary updates to the irrigation system database, ensuring it accurately reflects real-world conditions.
Materials and Surface Recovery
Additional topsoil and seed have been agreed and will be brought in to support the final reinstatement of all affected areas. The aim is to ensure a high-quality finish and a seamless return to play.
System Testing
Testing of the irrigation system is ongoing and will continue throughout this phase, both during the day and in the evenings. This allows the contractors to monitor performance, identify any issues early, and ensure the system is operating exactly as intended.
