And they’re off.

Irrigation Project Back Underway

This morning marked a significant milestone as our irrigation project resumed at full capacity. After several challenging weeks of weather disruption, it was fantastic to see the team back on site and making strong progress once again. To allow the next phase of installation to move forward safely and efficiently, the 3rd Hole has been closed, and the 17th tees have been brought forward. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while these essential works take place.

Weather Delays – But Progress Behind the Scenes

Over the past three weeks, persistent poor weather meant that continuing with installation would have risked unnecessary damage to the course. As a result, the majority of the team were temporarily reassigned to other projects until conditions improved. However, it hasn’t been idle time here. A smaller crew remained on site and have been working diligently to repair and reinstate areas where irrigation lines have already been installed. Their efforts have focused on restoring turf, tidying trenches, and ensuring previously completed sections are settling in well.

The team have also done an excellent job catching up on the rolling programme. All installed areas have now been rolled and irrigation heads cut, with the exception of the 5th (which is currently being completed), the 10th Green and the 14th Tees. The latter two remain too wet to access at present, although it’s remarkable what even a short spell of dry weather can do.

Spring Weather = Full Speed Ahead

With spring conditions now arriving, we are hopeful we can really crack on with the remaining holes over the next few weeks. Installation is still required on the: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 17th and 18th.

While that may seem like a long list, the longer daylight hours compared to just a few weeks ago will make a huge difference. The extended working windows will allow the team to maintain momentum and push the project forward at pace.

Investing in the Course’s Future

This irrigation upgrade remains a major investment in the long-term quality and resilience of the course. Once completed, it will deliver more consistent surfaces, improved turf health and greater reliability during dry periods — all contributing to a better year-round playing experience.

We’re looking forward to seeing strong progress over the coming weeks and will continue to keep you updated.

Exciting times ahead.
