This week we held our first formal meeting with our project partners – architect Irritech and contractor Green Irrigation – as we take the next big step in the Harleyford Irrigation Project.
The meeting was a crucial opportunity to align on all aspects of the project before works begin. We reviewed the initial Health & Safety documentation, including the full RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statement) pack prepared by Green Irrigation, ensuring that the highest safety standards will be in place throughout the project.
We also held a detailed site compound meeting, discussing the location where contractors will operate from to allow efficient access to the golf course. Linked to this were plans for signage management and the temporary closure of certain holes, which will be carefully scheduled to minimise disruption.
Another key point of discussion was the mobilisation date. By reviewing the Club diary, we are working to ensure that construction activity fits around our calendar of events and creates as little disturbance as possible for our members. Of course, contingencies such as inclement weather and frost delays were also factored into planning, given the heavy machinery required for this scale of work.
The next step will be the marking out of the course, which is set to begin in the coming weeks. This will signal the visible start of what is a truly major capital investment for Harleyford Golf Club – one that will future-proof our irrigation system and benefit members for many years to come.
We are excited to see the project moving forward and will continue to keep members updated at every stage.
