Course Maintenance

Our greenkeeping team have been making excellent progress across the course in recent weeks, despite some challenging winter conditions, with work focused on presentation, playability, and preparing the course for the season ahead.

Tree clearing has now been completed on the 17th hole, helping to improve light levels and airflow, while extensive leaf collection has taken place in key wooded areas left of the 11th tee, behind the 10th tee, and along the right-hand side of the 9th hole. These works help keep the course looking its best while protecting turf health throughout the winter months.

The team have also recently aerated the greens, approaches, and run-offs using pencil tines to improve drainage and encourage healthy growth. In addition, work has begun on stripping dead grass from bunker faces, with these areas scheduled to be returfed in February to further enhance bunker presentation and consistency.

Alongside these larger projects, the team continue to focus on the day-to-day details that help ensure an enjoyable visit, including keeping paths gritted during frosty weather and ball washers regularly refilled.

We are also hoping to apply a preventative disease treatment to the greens within the next week, although this is dependent on suitable weather conditions, including dry, low-wind periods.

Looking ahead, preparations are complete for the practice nets renovation, which has been slightly delayed by the weather. We are now awaiting confirmation of a start date from the contractors, with the work expected to be completed within the next month. We look forward to sharing further updates as this improvement gets underway.
