Ready Golf – Small Changes, Faster Rounds

Enjoying a good pace of play benefits everyone on the course, and one of the simplest ways to help is by embracing Ready Golf.

Ready Golf isn't about rushing your round—it's about being prepared, playing safely and making the most of the time between shots. A few small changes from every player can make a significant difference to the overall pace of play.

Be Ready to Play

As you walk to your ball, start thinking about your next shot. Take the clubs, glove and any equipment you'll need with you so you're ready to play as soon as it's your turn.

Play When You're Ready

Where it's safe to do so, there's no need to wait for the player furthest from the hole. If you're ready and clear to play, go ahead. On the tee, the player who is prepared first can tee off first.

Remember: Safety always comes first. Never play if another player is within range.

Save Time Around the Greens

Simple habits around the putting green can save valuable minutes throughout a round. Take the club you'll need for your next shot before reaching your ball, park your trolley or buggy where you can leave the green efficiently, and complete your scorecard on the next tee rather than beside the green. Once everyone has holed out, leave the putting surface promptly.

Keep Ball Searches to Three Minutes

The Rules of Golf allow a maximum of three minutes to search for a lost ball. If it isn't found within that time, it's best to move on and keep play flowing. If there are groups waiting behind, consider inviting them to play through where appropriate.

Ready Golf is all about preparation, awareness and consideration for fellow golfers. By making a few simple changes to the way we play, we can all help create a more enjoyable experience for everyone on the course.

Thank you for doing your part to keep the game moving.
