Safeguarding - Harleyford Golf Club

For those of you who do not already know, Harleyford Golf Club has an ongoing accreditation with England Golf's Safe Golf Scheme. 

The SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf.

The SafeGolf partnership consists of members from the golfing bodies across Great Britain & Ireland and has been established to help golf respond to the issue of child protection in sport. Its mission is to safeguard the welfare of children and young people, as well as adults at risk, in the sport of golf.

SafeGolf is first, a website – www.safegolf.org – through which anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.

Secondly, it is the safeguarding standard England Golf will promote to all their affiliated clubs to ensure all clubs provide a safe and positive experience to children and young people whilst playing golf. The PGA is also using the standards to apply to all their PGA professional Coaches.

Welfare Officer

After a good few years of service, Tim Dickinson is stepping down as the Club's Welfare Officer. We would like to thank Tim for his unwavering dedication to the role and the regular use of the Car Parking Space afforded to this essential role.

I am pleased to announce that David Barry (Baz) will be taking up the gauntlet as the new Welfare Officer. Baz is available to talk to for any members who require a confidential conversation about their or others' welfare or safety. You can find Baz's contact details on the main noticeboard or on the website under 'Safeguarding'.

We are delighted to be able to provide a safe environment for all golfers to enjoy. Please let me know if anyone has any questions regarding safeguarding.
