Message from the Men's Captain

Good Morning,

What a great day yesterday proved to be in what has become one of the pinnacle events at Harleyford GC. A field of some 128 people took part in exceptional weather conditions, thankfully not as hot as Friday and good to see so many of the new members around the clubhouse experiencing this fantastic event. Yet again the green staff produced a fantastic setting, with some rather nifty greens, and I also hear that Jon Jones managed to hit the green on the 12th a couple of times. Fantastic scoring saw 23 players shoot 37 points or better which in itself is a fantastic achievement. The winners of the team event are no strangers to the top spot so well done to Jack and Kieran Cronin & Michael and Tim Lausch with an incredible 99 points. I saw Kieran whilst he was crossing the road between the 16th and 17th and I asked how he was getting on, with the response very candidly, we are doing alright, well done again. In the individual stakes to take the big cheese was David Dyas with 43 pts, again top effort.

Just a couple of reminders if I may.

Please acquaint yourselves with the additional local rules we have introduced whilst the current Covid situation is in effect, they are located in the latest news area of your IG App and on the noticeboard in the foyer near to the pro shop, and could save you a few shots off your round if you fall foul of these rules.

Final point, has been the increased amount of pitch marks on the greens. These pitch marks are only caused by the members and their guests as we do not have visitors attending, so for consideration to the rest of the members please be a little more diligent in repairing them and maybe one or two others if you happen to see them. We have a great place in which we enjoy our sport so it’s worth preserving what we have and help the green staff out.
