Members Rally Behind Taylor Paul at Special Golf Day

Harleyford Golf Club members and guests came together in fantastic numbers on Friday 5th June to support one of the club's own as Taylor Paul Golf Day proved to be a tremendous success both on and off the course. The event gave participants a unique opportunity to meet Taylor, watch him in action and learn more about his journey as he pursues his ambition of securing DP World Tour membership for 2027 through Q School later this year. With an exciting season already underway, there was a real sense of enthusiasm around the day as members showed their support for a player who continues to make significant strides in the professional game. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, and with the support of event sponsors Pothole Payout and The Bourne End Golf Hub, the day raised more than £1,200. The funds will help support Taylor with tournament entry fees and travel costs as he enters the next phase of his season.

The timing could not be better. Taylor has enjoyed an outstanding start to 2026 on the Clutch Tour Tier 2, highlighted by a victory at Ellesborough in April. Combined with a series of consistent performances across the season, the win has helped propel him to the top of the Order of Merit as the tour approaches its halfway stage. For Harleyford members, it has been exciting to follow Taylor's progress and see one of the club's talented professionals competing at such a high level. The Golf Day offered a chance not only to support his ambitions but also to gain a closer insight into the dedication and commitment required to compete professionally. The day itself was filled with great golf, friendly competition and plenty of memorable moments. Congratulations go to the winning team of Phil Basford, Chantelle Basford, Bob Welfare-Ford and Amanda Bouch, who emerged victorious after an excellent performance.

Well done also to everyone who managed to get the better of Taylor in the popular 'Beat the Pro' Challenge, which added an extra layer of fun and competition to the day.

Most importantly, thank you to every member, guest, sponsor and volunteer who contributed to making the event such a success. The support shown for Taylor was a fantastic reflection of the Harleyford community, and we look forward to following his progress throughout the remainder of the season and beyond. Good luck, Taylor – everyone at Harleyford will be cheering you on.
