Harleyford Greenkeeper Selected for Prestigious National Leadership Programme

Harleyford Golf Club is proud to announce that Assistant Greenkeeper Jon Dykes has been selected as one of just fifteen greenkeepers from across the United Kingdom to join the prestigious 2026 Future Turf Managers Initiative (FTMI).

Run by the British and International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) in partnership with Jacobsen, the FTMI programme is recognised as one of the golf industry's leading development opportunities for aspiring course managers.

Each year, only a small number of applicants are selected following a competitive application process that identifies individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to professional development and the potential to become future leaders within the industry.

Jon's selection is a fantastic achievement, both personally and professionally, and reflects the dedication, enthusiasm and professionalism he brings to Harleyford Golf Club every day.

Since joining the greenkeeping team, Jon has continued to develop his knowledge and skills while playing an important role in maintaining one of Buckinghamshire's finest golf courses. His selection is recognition not only of his own hard work but also of Harleyford's commitment to investing in its people.

Over the coming months, Jon will participate in leadership development, mentoring sessions, industry workshops and professional education before attending the prestigious BIGGA Turf Management Exhibition (BTME) next January.

The programme has become widely respected throughout the golf industry, with many previous participants progressing into Head Greenkeeper and Course Manager positions at leading golf clubs across the UK.

For Harleyford, Jon's achievement reflects the culture that continues to grow within the greenkeeping department. Under the leadership of Golf Course Manager Andrew McEvoy, the team has embraced innovation, continuous learning and investment in professional development alongside major projects such as the Club's recently completed £1.2 million irrigation system.
