What a busy couple of weeks it’s been — and I thought I was winding down!

Our recent 9-Hole Flag Competition was won by Kay Woolley — very well done, Kay (especially given the rather rainy conditions…!).

We were also delighted to see Amy Watters and Sue Cooke progress to the finals of the BCLGA Winter Greensomes. They will play at Burnham Beeches against a pair from Ellesborough or Gerrards Cross. Best of luck to you both — bring that trophy home again as defending champions!

Captain’s Swansong Events

My final two competitions were a wonderful way to round off the year.

The Captain’s Swansong Trophy (Major Competition) took place on Thursday, with Lyndsey Carter claiming victory with an excellent 20 points over 9 holes (weather-adjusted!).

Then on Saturday 21st February, we held my Final Swansong — and what a fabulous day it was. Congratulations to Liz Clegg, Suse Muir-Browne and Sharon Symons, who won with a superb 33 points.

End of Season Trophy Winners

The final trophies of the year were presented:

  • Silver Scratch Jug – Esther Morley

  • Bronze Scratch Trophy – Kathie Hopps

  • Order of Merit Trophy – Pat Elwell

Special congratulations also to:

  • Liz Clegg – Birdie Tree Winner

  • Angela Spang – Most Improved Player

And well done to Sue Martin, who received her memento for winning the Women’s Club Championship 2025.

I will officially hand over the reins to Diane Elliott on Saturday 14th March. Please do come along to wish her well — it would be lovely to see as many of you there as possible.

It has been a pleasure — thank you all for your support.

Happy Golfing ⛳
