Seniors Xmas Competition & Lunch

On Monday 10th December 2018, Harleyford Senior Section held their annual Christmas golf and lunch day.

The golf was a 14 hole cross country course in teams of 4. A stableford competition with the best 3 scores counting. The teams were in festive costumes - the winning costume worn by Ken Walls which involved him wearing a replica chimney on his head. He has worn this previously and it was noted that some of the brickwork needed re-pointing.

The first three teams all had a total of 86 points but on countback the winners were the team of Richard Campin, Rod McKee, Alan Everill and Stuart Fox.

A record number of seniors - 73,  enjoyed a traditional 3 course Christmas lunch with a very difficult quiz, set by Marshall Lawton and unique entertainment from Laurie Hope, Jim Robson, and Keith Robson.

Golf prizes from this year were presented by Mens' Captain - Bob Welfare-Ford and stewards Nick Rints and Marshall Lawton presented the prizes from the 14 hole cross country competition.

If you fancy playing golf with a cardboard chimney on your head - come and join us on a Monday morning!
