Harleyford Golf club
Good Afternoon Jack,
I hope you have all had a good week and have had a chance to enjoy what little sunshine in between the showers we have been encountering.
Euro-Pro Spectating
As you will all know, next week is the PGA Euro-Pro at Harleyford. This means that the course and practice facilities will be closed from Monday till Friday.
All members are welcome to come and spectate at the tournament which is:
Wednesday, 26th May - Tee Times from 06.30hrs till 15.00hrs.
Thursday, 27th May - Tee Times from 06.30hrs till 15.00hrs.
Friday, 28th May - Tee Times from 08.30hrs till 12.00hrs
The prize presentation on Friday is usually at 16.00hrs so please feel free to come up and watch the last group coming in.
The Kitchen and Bar is open to members all week as usual, so please feel free to come and use the Clubhouse facilities.
Euro-Pro Parking
Please can any members coming up next week to volunteer or spectate use the Harleyford Manor Car Park (where there are about 40 spaces) instead of the Golf Club car park. This allows the players to park in the Golf Club car park.
To get to the Manor Car Park, instead of turning right up the hill to come to the golf club, carry on down towards the marina and the car parks are on your left opposite the manor house. You can then join the public footpath and walk up to the Clubhouse.
Harleyford Entries
As usual, we will be entering four of our aspiring golfers into the Euro-Pro tournament. The first space usually goes to Jon Jones, Head Professional, however, he has had to forfeit his space due to an ongoing injury. I am however pleased to announce we have the following four entries for Harleyford:
Will Symons (Pro), Luke Hawkins (Amt), Taylor Paul (Amt) and Ignatius (Iggy) McGuinness (Amt).
Please make sure you wish them luck and come and support them if you can.
Fusarium
Some of you will have noticed that we have encountered a slight spate of fusarium on the greens at Harleyford.
The greenkeepers think this will recover quickly and this has simply been caused by the freak weather conditions we have been experiencing recently. This disease is not isolated to Harleyford as we have had reports of numerous other courses struggling with this as well.
Good luck to everyone playing in the Club Championships this weekend where we have a fantastic 114 competitors!
Have a great evening.
