Clubhouse Renovation

Good Morning,

Since reopening the Golf Club on 13th May we have seen a huge surge in the number of rounds of golf being played. Below is a graph to give you an idea of  how many rounds of golf have been played compared with the same months last year:

With these sort of numbers of players and the large increase in membership, we have decided, in order to focus our attentions on golf an golfers to permanently relocate the Pro-Shop to the Marlow Room. Since re-opening in May a lot of members have given me positive indications that they enjoy having the Shop in its current location.

The Marlow Room will act as the main reception and 'check in' as it delivers a much more welcoming approach for guests instead of having to enter the pro-shop, register and then head back outside to come round to the bar.

We will also be installing offices at the back of the Marlow Room to accommodate the Golf Club admin staff and myself at a safe, socially distanced level.

The TV, honours boards and some of trophy cabinets will be relocated to the former pro-shop space which will be turned into a lounge room with new decorations and furniture.

Obviously this is going to be a big change for the Golf Club however I think it is one that in the long run will be extremely beneficial.

The work is due to commence on Monday, 10th August 2020 and therefore the Pro-Shop and 'check-in' will temporarily move to the Lounge. We will endeavour to cause as little disruption as possible, but please bear with us during the two weeks that this work will be taking place.

We will clearly mark the access routes around the golf club in order for everyone to socially distance where required.

Should anyone have any questions regarding the renovation works, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,

Jack Slade
General Manager
