Club Update - Clubhouse & Forward 16th Tee

Dear Member,

Firstly let me congratulate some incredible scores of 40 points plus coming in this week from the NHS competitions, not to mention the donations that have been raised for the NHS charity combating Covid-19. Thank you to all of those who have made separate donations as well. Some bits of update news for you this weekend:

Clubhouse Opening

As you will all be aware, the Government has announced further relaxation of the lock-down resulting in the Clubhouse being able to offer a more extensive service from Saturday, 4th July 2020.

From next Saturday, seating will be available on the front terrace, back terrace, in the lounge and in the pavilion. There will still be no access to the bar and orders will still be taken from behind the screen as they have been.

We are also welcoming a reduced kitchen team back to work and a new limited menu will be available between the hours of 08.00hrs till 16.00hrs. Food will be served to the tables but drinks will be served from the right hand side bar door as it has been.

We will remain cashless and will only accept card. In line with the Government's track and trace requirements, all purchases must be put through the levy if the member is purchasing. It is also essential that ALL guests are registered in advance with the correct names.

The rest of the Clubhouse will remain set up how it is for the time being. Locker rooms will remain closed, the pro-shop will remain in the Marlow Room. Members are allowed to attend the golf club at any time they like to practice or use the catering facilities, however course tee times MUST be booked in advance.

All the Front of House staff are being given the appropriate training with how to manage food under the current circumstances.

Forward 16th Tee

From Thursday, 2nd July 2020, the forward 16th tee will be opened in line with the first Ladies qualifying competition. This tee will be predominantly used by the red and blue course. Three of our Lady Captains took their clubs up to the tee today to officially open the tee whilst adhering to the social distance rules.

For all those on planning to use the new tee, I hope you enjoy this new challenge on a much shorter par 3. I would also just like to take this opportunity to thank Craig and his team for completing all the work for the tee in house without any need for external assistance.

Qualifying Competitions

Just a reminder that from Monday, 29th June 2020, the qualifying competitions will commence. The competition schedule will stay the same for the whole of July and will be visible on 'upcoming competitions' on IG and displayed each morning in the Pro-shop.

There is no need to book into these competitions in advance. Simply book your tee time as normal and then sign into the competition on the morning of the competition day.

Jubilee Cup

Don't forget. the first MAJOR of the year will be the Jubilee Cup. This will be held on Sunday, 26th July 2020. The sign up for the Jubilee Cup will open on Thursday, 9th July 2020 at 06.30hrs. We will attempt to get as many members as possible playing in this competition. For members without a handicap, there is still time to establish one in order to play in the Jubilee Cup.

Pro-Shop Cart Bag Competition

There are still a few spaces remaining for the pro-shop cart bag draw so don't forget to purchase a box of balls from the Pro-Shop to be in for a chance to win the Titleist Cart Bag. You can place orders via email if you are not going to be up at the Club for the next few days.

Please click here to read the updated rules and guidelines.

All decisions and the pace set by the Club are to help us protect our staff, members and the UK general public. They will be reviewed on a regular basis in line with advice from England Golf and the Government.

We would request that any members who show early symptoms of the virus, or who have close family or friends with whom they have been in contact recently, who have been diagnosed with the virus to follow Government guidelines and not to visit the Club for at least 14 days.

As well as the points listed below, I would remind members of the importance of regularly washing your hands with soap and water, covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze, and disposing of any tissues when used.

Lastly, should any members have any questions or concerns regarding Harleyford or any of the points raised within this update, please contact me.

Continue to stay safe,

Jack Slade
General Manager
